Seeing that I was awarded the Restaurant Critic Award at our holiday staff meeting (the lobster), I thought I'd give you all the rundown on the new restaurant in the North Station/North End area: RoadTrip.

Out of five claws, I gave it two - or "good".

The atmosphere was cool, sort of art deco-ish, nice bar, with good quality furniture, dishes and flatware. The service needs some help in the efficiency area but was very polite. Music was good - Gypsy Kings. Due to the large space, it was pretty noisy.

The wine list was wonderful with several choices by the glass. I recommend the Farrari Corrano, savignon blanc. Wine is about $5-6 per glass.

The menu was based on different regions of the country: New York, Southwest, California, Heartland etc. I stuck to California and ordered the seared tuna with bowtie pasta and olives. It was delicious but the portion was small. I cleaned my plate even. Some of the other meat/poultry dishes we saw looked heartier. Entrees range from $10-18.

The dessert menu looked rich and chocolatey. There was nothing healthy such as a sorbet or fruit tart. But who cares anyway when ordering dessert. $6.50 each

There is a quite a bar scene. But it's kept distant from the dining room. You can still hear it. Also, its a 6:30 p.m. bar crowd - divorcees on parade.

Overall, we enjoyed ourselves but left with hunger pangs. I probrably won't visit RoadTrip again unless I'm in the area or looking for a good bar with a good looking crowd.

Lastly, best of dinners to all who try RoadTrip.
